Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator to power ITEX’s new on-demand, self-service cloud services for offshore customers
Livingston, Scotland – 29th May 2012 – Flexiant, a leading European provider of cloud orchestration software for on-demand, fully automated provisioning of cloud services, today announced that ITEX, the technology solutions specialists for offshore markets, has chosen Flexiant to power its new self-provisioning cloud infrastructure services platform. ITEX will also offer Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator as a white labelled, turnkey solution to system integrators and software developers wanting to provide cloud services to their clients.
Based in the Channel Islands, ITEX provides a semi-private cloud, offering a hosted infrastructure service from its own data centres and serves clients that are sensitive about the location and jurisdiction of their data. Specialists in the financial services, e-gaming and e-commerce sectors, ITEX needed to be able to instantly control, build and monitor its cloud services.
After several months of market assessment, the Company turned to Flexiant’s software to automate the process by which the physical and virtual cloud infrastructure resources are deployed.
“Flexiant has enabled us to win new business. It’s as simple as that,” states Richard Parker, Market Development Director at ITEX. “Our offshore business customers are constantly looking to improve resource utilisation, increase automation and flexibility, and reduce the time required to roll out new business applications. With our new cloud services platform, they can do just that.”
“By deploying Flexiant, we have been able to transform our existing IT resources and data centres into a pool of infrastructure resources which can be allocated to clients in a matter of minutes, rather than weeks and months, continues Parker. “What’s more, as a cloud platform we can now deliver services far beyond our Channel Islands location to practically anywhere in the world, opening up a significant new opportunity for us.”
ITEX turned to Flexiant as it was looking to expand its existing hosted desktop service into a complete cloud computing offering. By using Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator as the basis of its new cloud computing service, ITEX can now deliver a self-service cloud service to its customers, giving them the ability to rapidly deploy a complete computing infrastructure on a pay-per-use basis.
George Knox, CEO, Flexiant said, “In addition to offering its own cloud infrastructure service based on our platform, ITEX will be reselling Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator to system integrators and software development firms as a white label cloud service. This will allow ITEX to expand, seek out new market opportunities and build an annuity-based revenue stream.”
