Many service providers face issues that prevent them from effectively using cloud resources and virtualization environments for their computing and data processing needs. Optimizing VMs is important both for the cloud applications running on them and also the cloud providers offering the resource.

To solve these issues, Flexiant is proud to announce the launch of the Horizon 2020 ENTICE project aimed at removing critical barriers that prevent effective use of cloud services. Launched in Innsbruck, Austria, our consortium of leading research organizations and universities from across Europe will make it easier for service providers to access optimized VMs.

Existing research mostly focuses on pre-optimizing algorithms, which are not applicable to already available VM images. With its VM synthesiser, ENTICE will extend pre-optimizing approaches so that image dependency descriptions are mostly automatically generated. The project will also introduce new comprehensive post-optimizing algorithms so that existing VM images can be automatically adapted to dynamic cloud environments.

We are joined in the ENTICE project by the University of Innsbruck, Germany, SZTAKI in Hungary, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, Wellness Telecom in Spain and DEIMOS in Spain.

We’d love to hear what you think about the ENTICE project and are always keen to hear from collaboration partners and other interested stakeholders. Please feel free to get in touch to discuss any aspect of the project and to find out more.
