Extility has always been designed to be as agnostic and as flexible as possible as to the underlying virtualisation technologies it uses. Extility Service Provider Edition now supports VMware vSphere in addition to our existing support for KVM & Xen. We can provide a consistent user interface across all three hypervisor solutions. Whichever hypervisor you want to use, Extility can manage it.

In a VMware configuration Extility, acts as an orchestration and management engine for VMWare. This provides a self-service user interface, metering, billing & more, with the knowledge that you are still gaining all the benefits of VMware vSphere underneath.  For a full list of features available in Extility please see the features page.

It’s a little known fact that VMware don’t allow ESXi to be used in a hosting environment without vSphere. So whoever’s software you plan to use, if you plan to integrate with VMware, you should ensure that the software you are using is integrated into vSphere, rather than using ESXi.
